You can’t just lay it down and hope for the best. There are steps you’ll need to take.
Preparation: Make sure that the surface is completely level and that all turf, gravel, and grass are removed and that you’ve laid a layer of Hardcore at least 5cm thick over the area. After this you’ll need to apply 2.5cm of sharp sand and make sure that the entire area is flat, firm and most importantly level.
Fitting: You can now lay your artificial grass. Make sure that you’ve got overlap so that there aren’t bald areas and smooth out any creases. It’s a good idea to wear gloves to keep your hands safe. Once this is done you can trim off any excess turf with a craft knife. A wooden frame should be made around the outside of the area for the grass to be screwed down to. Once this is done, the only ongoing work you’re going to have to do is to brush it to correct height.
